Choosing the Right Keywords for Your SEO Campaign

Monday, August 30th, 2010

When it comes to making money with Adsense, choosing the right keywords makes all the difference. Good keywords can make your traffic and your income soar, while on the other hand, bad keyword selection can prevent your business from ever getting off the ground.

Before you add Adsense to an existing site or build a new Adsense site, you need to start with keyword research. Spend some time on this step and do your homework, but by no means fall into paralysis by analysis. Choosing your keywords shouldn’t be overwhelming. There are Adsense guides out there like Fatcat Blueprint that simplify this process for you, while showing you how to find the most profitable keywords. For right now, here are some basic tips you can take advantage of.

1. Start by answering some elementary questions. What makes your site unique or different from the competition? Who are you targeting? Know your audience. If you were in the market for your product, how would you search for it? What words or phrases would you search on. Write all these answers down and keep them handy as you search for descriptive keywords in the next steps.

2. To research keywords, you’ll want to use a keyword tool, like Google AdWords, to do your research. Pay particular attention at the search volume and competition rating for each potential keyword. Ideally, you want keywords that are have high search volume, but low competition. That means the phrase is being searched on by tons of people, but there aren’t many websites targeting them. This will bring free traffic to your google adsense web page.

3. Don’t be too broad – aim for long-tailed keywords. The more specific you are, the lower your chance of facing tons of competition. Your goal is to end up on page 1 of the search results on a term people search for. Repeatedly, studies show that more than half of internet searchers click on a link from page 1 – that’s why it’s so important to get there. For example, if you’re trying to sell a product that targets people wanting to lose weight, don’t target the keyword ‘weight loss’ because it’s such a broad topic. Selecting a broad keyword like ‘weight loss’ has so much competition that you will probably never rank on the first page of Google. Instead, go for keywords like ’safe weight loss for woman’ or ‘losing pounds after child birth’. This way, you’re targeting a very specific group that’s looking for a solution to a problem.

I hope these few tips were helpful. Remember you can find many more professional tips plus a blueprint of how to put it all together in Fatcat Blueprint. Don’t wait another minute to start making money with Adsense.

Basic Offline Marketing Methods for Internet Marketers

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

The internet is a powerful marketing medium but it is only one of many. The internet can take you far but it is a mistake to not look into other ways of getting your products and services noticed. You may be doing well now but sooner or later your main traffic streams may die out so you might as well differentiate your business now with methods that aren’t at all effected by the search engines.

Marketing your business offline increases your potential client base exponentially. When it comes down to it you are in business to make sales. So this means branching out to the offline market. Following are a few very common methods used in offline marketing that you are already familiar with but probably aren’t using.

Never underestimate the power of direct mail. This is where you create a letter or a postcard or even a flier and send it to people through the post. One way to reduce the cost of this is to make your own letters, fliers or postcards and print them out on your own printer. Postcards cost less to mail than letters and fliers, which is another way to cut down on cost.

Think of what physical businesses might want or need what you are selling; these can make good potential customers. You can also send out mail to targeted lists of non-business owners as well. Before you get started with this plan, research your local laws about sending out unsolicited mail.

If you can afford it, television ads are wonderful ways to advertise your business to an offline audience. Can you think of a better way of advertising than by having viewers watching a commercial of yours on their TV screen? This can be expensive so you need to test your sales strategy first. Yes, TV ads are expensive but this is the very thing that can make your company go viral; and get the extra attention that you have been looking for. Prime-time ads are the most expensive because the most viewers are watching at that time but you can opt to run it at another time. Consider these options when you are putting your first ad buy together.

Start strategically making use of pens. There are lots of printing houses that will print up hundreds of pens and other writing utensils with your slogan or URL on them. Once you start distributing them you will quickly find out how easy they are to get rid of. Use it when you write a check or sign a credit card slip at the grocery store and then “forget” to put it back in your bag. Leave a few at the bank or at ATMs and customer service counters. You might even try leaving some at the library or even just handing them out as you walk around. You will be out of pens before you know it!.

No one is online all the time, so there are many different ways you can market to people offline! It’s a good idea to put aside a certain part of your marketing budget for offline marketing. Many internet marketers forget to do this, and thereby lose a significant number of possible customers! If you want to make money, why would you want to ignore so many possible customers? Instead, you should explore all the promotional avenues that are available to you.

Facebook Ad Power – The Review

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

It is getting more and difficult, in some ways, to succeed by advertising with Google Adwords.

Many accounts are being banned outright, and the user often doesn’t even know why. The fact is, internet marketers have allowed Google to maintain a virtual monopoly on internet advertising. Google has all the power, and those who advertise with them must simply obey! You do have other choices, of course; Google isn’t the only way to promote your products online.

Some of the fastest growing sites online right now are social networks; advertising on these is a ground floor opportunity in many ways. That’s why Facebook Ad Power was released: to fill the gap that has existed for internet marketers seeking a viable Google Adwords alternative.

Here is our fair review of the Facebook Ad Power program.

Facebook Ad Power is a course that gives you quite a bit of information. This course has one goal that it sticks to: teaching you how to use the Facebook advertising system to successfully market your business. The format of the course is video instruction. The videos can be lengthy but there are not a lot of them and they are very thorough. The introductory video is close to an hour and a half and gives you the foundation of what you need to know. One user reports taking twelve pages of usable notes just during the first video lesson. You are definitely getting a lot of knowledge to absorb!

The goal of Facebook Ad Power is to show you how to advertise your products or services using Facebook’s growing advertising network. Social networking is getting more popular every day, and Facebook accounts for a large segment of this, with well over a hundred million users. The good news is that Facebook advertising is still largely undiscovered by internet marketers. So already, your competition has been smashed down to a manageable amount! So what makes more sense, trying to outbid thousands of competitors on Google, or switching gears to a place with just as many potential visitors and far less competition?

The program gives you a total of four videos to watch. The first video, which summarizes the course, is the longest. The other videos are taken from another series on internet marketing strategies that the creator put together. While these other three videos are not as long as the first, and not as dense with information, they do provide some good ideas and principles you can use in many ways. One reviewer took so many notes from these three videos that her whole notebook was full of possibilities for her various marketing plans. Not everyone may get this inspired, but at least it suggests that this program has some diverse elements, providing both thorough information and some general thought provoking material as well. It requires a new mind set to create an advertising strategy that does not use Google. People have allowed this one company to become so dominant that it’s hard to think of alternative ways to advertise. This is the brilliance behind Facebook Ad Power. You can learn to leverage this still new advertising venue, and avoid the expensive and rigid environment of Adwords. Facebook Ad Power is a course for anyone who is looking for a new and innovative way to promote their business online.

If this sounds like something that could help you, why not try it yourself?

Increase Your Conversion Rates with Squeeze Pages

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

If you’re looking for a great way to increase your conversion rates, using squeeze pages may be your answer.

A squeeze page is a simple web page that has one specific purpose – to convince your potential customer to give you their email address. Why? So that you can follow up with them. Studies have shown it may take 7 or more contacts with a potential customer before you make a sale. Instead of sending your potential customers directly to a sales page, send them to a squeeze page so that you can get their email address and follow up with them. This will increase your sales considerably.

A squeeze page should contain mainly text with very few if any graphics. In addition, it shouldn’t contain anything that will distract your readers attention away from your text. In other words, you want their full attention on your words.

Place a powerful heading toward the top of the page displayed in a large font size. There should also be some additional sub-headlines and a subscription box. The text should be no longer than 100 words, and should all fit within the browser window without scrolling. Below the subscription box should be some text that assures your visitors that you will never sell or share their information.

To ensure your squeeze page will be effective, you must offer your visitors something of value, such as information, a quality ebook, software, video, or audio file in exchange for their email address.

There are many companies that use this technique both online and offline. Some companies run contests that require you to visit their web site and enter your email address to see if you’ve won something. There are also companies that will give you a music or software download when you enter your email address. These are all highly effective forms of squeeze page use.

Here’s how to create a high converting squeeze page:

1. Research your potential market prior to setting up your squeeze page. If there isn’t an interest in your market, you will not be successful.

2. Your headlines and text must be effective and convince your visitor to take action. If you’re not confident in your copywriting skills, hire a professional.

3. You must provide your potential customers with an incentive that is of value and of interest to them. The incentive should make them want to give you their email address.

4. When creating your web page, you should only provide enough information to create curiosity and make your visitors want to learn more. If you tell them everything up front, they won’t sign up to receive further information.

5. Make sure that your squeeze page is short. All of your information, including your text and subscription box should be displayed above the fold of your page, which is within your browser window without scrolling.

6. Explain to your visitors that you can’t guarantee how long this offer will be available. This will create a sense of urgency to encourage them to take action quickly.

7. As with any web site, if you want it to be successful, you must have a steady stream of traffic.

Squeeze pages can be used in a variety of ways, including marketing affiliate products. The best way to get the most out of your new subscriber list is to follow up with your members. You can do this by using a follow up autoresponder, such as AWeber or GetResponse. If you have presented your members with a limited time offer if they take a specific action within a specific amount of time, continue to remind them how many days they have left until the offer expires.

You can see a sample squeeze page here:

Squeeze pages are one of the most effective Internet marketing tools used to build a list of targeted potential customers. Use them to your advantage.

Launch Your Own One Time Offer

Monday, December 1st, 2008

If you’ve been on the Internet for a while, you are most likely familiar with one-time offers (OTO) and have most likely been presented with a few.

If you’re not familiar with this powerful marketing strategy, a OTO is a web page that displays immediately after you register at a membership site, subscribe to an online publication, or purchase a product. This page is actually an upsell page in which you are presented with a great offer to purchase something at a highly discounted rate. You have two choices – you can purchase the product or leave the page and never be offered the low discounted rate again.

A OTO can be a very effective sales tool. However, writing the sales copy for the page can be difficult, as you only have a few seconds to get your readers attention, convince them that the offer is of great value, and create a sense of urgency.

The great thing about a OTO is that a quality page with a quality product can produce a very high conversion rate. For this reason, many marketers are now using them.

However, unless you have some products you can sell and know how to write an effective one-time offer sales letter, you won’t be able to take advantage of this highly effective sales tool.

I’ve got some great news for you.  I just picked up a great one-time offer package that will give you an opportunity to not only pick up some great products you can sell with your one-time offer, but also a great one-time offer sales letter you can use on your own web site.

This isn’t some poorly written sales page that you see with many resell products. This sales letter was written by a professional copywriter who charged nearly $2,500. It’s quality sales copy written to produce results.

What’s more, you will also receive not one, but 50 of the newest, hottest resale products that you can sell and keep 100% of the profits.

And finally, you won’t believe the low price…

If you’d like to have your own OTO page and products, now is the time to act.

How to Get Your Site on the Internet

Monday, November 17th, 2008

If you’d like to get your own web site up on the Internet, but you’re not sure how to go about doing it, you have a few choices:

1. You can hire a professional web designer.

Although this will be the easiest route to take, depending on what you need, this can be very expensive.

You can find web designers who will bid on your project at any of the following web sites:

RentaCoder.com
eLance.com
Guru.com
ScriptLance.com

2. You can purchase a web page template and pay the company to edit it for you.

This is also an easy route to take; however, can also be expensive.

3. You can purchase a web page template and edit it yourself.

This requires you to learn some basic HTML; however, is one of the least expensive options, if you don’t mind that the template is also sold to other people.

4. You can use a service that will enable you to design your own pages right online.

This is a great choice if you want to get your site online quickly, but want to avoid the expense of hiring someone to design the site for you. This option will provide you with a quick and easy way to visually design your own web site right online without learning HTML. In addition, they will also host your site.

5. You can take the time to educate yourself and design your web site yourself.

This is also a great option, as I highly recommend that you take some time to educate yourself and at least learn some basic HTML. However, this option is also going to take the most time. If this is the route you’d like to take, my Web Design Mastery course will take you step by step through designing your own web site.

If money isn’t an issue and you just want to get your web site up as quickly as possible without doing any of the work yourself, you will most likely want to go with option one or two.

However, if you don’t mind doing some of the work yourself, but really don’t want to learn HTML, your best option will be option 4.

Significantly Increase Your Sales With Free Bonuses

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

You can significantly increase your sales by giving your customers some bonus products with the purchase of your product or service. Please don’t take this tip lightly, as many times, your customers will purchase your product or service just for the bonuses!

The key to using this technique effectively is to only include bonuses that target your specific market and are of high quality, which means they could be sold on their own.

For example, if you’re selling a book on training your dog, a great bonus might be video tutorials on training a dog, or audio interviews with professional dog trainers, etc.

If you don’t want to create your own bonuses to give away, there are a wealth of PLR (Private Label Rights) products you can purchase and use as free bonuses for your product. However, prior to purchasing a PLR product, make sure that you review the rights you will receive and that you can use the product as a bonus with your product.

You can find PLR products by visiting Google.com and typing in your target market plus PLR. Or, if you’re looking for a specific type of PLR, such as videos, type in your target market plus PLR videos. So, for example, if your target market is dog training, you would search for dog training PLR.

Once you have your bonuses, make sure you have an image to display with your text that represents your bonus. Your text should tell your reader all about the benefits of the bonus and explain that they will receive it free with their purchase of your product or service.

If you aren’t confident in your ability to create a professional looking image to display with your bonus, I highly recommend that you hire a professional graphics designer. If you don’t, and your image doesn’t look professional, the perceived value of your bonus will be low, which will defeat the purpose.

You can find some professional graphics designers here:

Dynamic Covers
Killer Covers

Send your conversion rates through the roof!

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

If you’re looking for a way to significantly increase your conversion rates on your sales pages, this tip is for you.

I recently did some testing on some of my sales pages and was shocked by the results! The only change I made to the pages was to add a video clip that told my visitors about the benefits of the product. That’s it. My sales immediately tripled! I couldn’t believe it.

If you’re not using video on your sales pages, you need to do so ASAP. There are a few different ways you can do this:

1. If you feel comfortable in front of a camera, set up a video camera and tell your potential customers about the benefits of your product and tell them how they can purchase it. For example, you could then tell them…

“To get started right now, click on the ‘Buy Now’ link at the bottom of this page.”

2. If you’d rather not be in your video, you could use a program, such as Camtasia to create a screen capture video. For example, if you’re selling a software program, you could create a video that shows your potential customers how your software works. If you’re selling a book, you could create a video that outlines the benefits of your book, etc.

As Camtasia is rather expensive, you may want to use a program, such as CamStudio. You can download a free copy at their site.

3. You could use a service, such as SitePal, that will enable you to create your own talking characters that you can program to speak the words you specify. This is the option I personally use, as it is the least time-consuming.

To your success!
